The original idea for Hatched came about in August 2005 under the original name, theonlineagents.co.uk. At the time, Adam Day had been working in estate agency for around 8 years and felt there was an opportunity for estate agency to go in a different direction and developed the initial idea of Hatched. Joined by him was James Venning in December 2005 - a close working colleague for a number of years. Together they designed and developed further the ideas and features of Hatched.co.uk. James Saunders joined the partnership in March 2006 to set up the lettings side of the business and eventually, the long awaited arrival of Hatched.co.uk came about in May 2006.
Adam, James V, James S & and the rest of the team at Hatched.co.uk, have been working within estate agency for a combined total of over 35 years and have gathered experience within every aspect of estate agency. Their combined knowledge, skills and expertise will help in any situation that might arise in sometimes stressful situations when buying, selling or letting a home. Here is a bit about some of the people you might come across when you sell or let your house through Hatched.co.uk:
Adam Day is one of the Sales Directors and came into estate agency as a school leaver in 1997, starting off as a junior negotiator in a highly successful franchise of independent agents in Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire. After learning the ropes from a variety of experienced agents throughout the franchise, his steady rise to office manager helped him become the youngest in the franchise.
James Venning is also a Sales Director and he started at the same company as Adam at around the same time and within the same capacity. James worked primarily in Bedfordshire and his rise to manager of the office was confirmed in 2001. He remained in this role until 2003, when he took a short sabbatical to travel the world. On his arrival back in the UK he was quickly offered a job back within the same estate agency as before, but this time, in the same town as Adam.
James Saunders is our Lettings Director and after leaving university he began his career in lettings management at a large independant estate agent in North Herts. Quickly moving up the career ladder, he left his role of Client Account Manager after 5 years at the company. James was responsible for looking after over 400 properties and quickly established himself as a leading member of the lettings team.
Since our inception, over 2 years ago, we have seen an incredible level of people wanting to sign up to sell and let their house with us. We have developed a concept which not only uses the internet to its full advantage, but still offers the core estate agency values and first class customer service. We have had some wonderful comments from many happy customers who, in the main, just can't believe how we can do our job for such low fees. The rest of them are just amazed by the virtual tours or the vendor login site!
We are continuing to develop new ideas and new pages for the site. We have recently added a testimonials page and we have also launched our property of the week feature. Coming up over the next 6-9 months, and hopefully before 2008 is out, are some other unique ideas that we are working on, that will help to revolutionise the presentation of properties in estate agency further. Unfortunately these ideas can't be revealed at this stage, but watch this space - the ideas are industry changing!
