Getting to Know You: Jodie

Published on 15 April, 2015

Our new weekly 'Getting to Know You' feature returns! This week we were finding out more about Jodie, our Client Accounts Manager from the Lettings team.

How long have you worked at Hatched and what do you do day to day?

Just under 2 years.

I am in charge of making sure all the rent comes in on time and processing and paying it over to the Landlords and I also make sure that all the contractors that work in our properties are paid for the work that they do. That is along with helping with letting properties, move ins and day to day lettings jobs. I am also responsible for sending out all the invoices to solicitors and vendors once a property exchanges and then chasing up the commission payments.

What did you do before working at Hatched?

I was working as a recruiter at an apprenticeship recruitment agency.

What do you love most about your role?

I have a real interest in property, I love all of the property programmes on TV and I would love to have a chance to maybe develop my own one day. I also really liked the fact that the Hatched philosophy stood out as different, and with a bit of knowledge of the industry and how estate agency works, just thought it was a really great idea.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

I wanted to be a performer in the West End.

5. What would your Karaoke song be?

It’s not really karaoke, but any west end leading lady song! Too many to choose from!

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

I love Morocco, Marrakech in particular. I’ve been about 4 times now. It’s great because it’s not too far away, but the culture and sights are so different to what you would find in a European country – and I will almost certainly be going back again!

Who is your favourite band or artist?

I can’t answer this one! I am really really into music and if you look at my iPod there will be everything from jazz to club music and everything in between. I couldn’t live without music in my life.

Where in the world that you’ve not already visited would you like to go, and why?

I love travelling and there is quite a bit of the world that I haven’t yet explored. If I had to choose one place, I would really love to go to Thailand, I have never had a chance to go across to the far east but I have watched a lot of programmes on that part of the world and I find the culture and the landscape really interesting. Something I will see at some point.

Aside from food, water, and shelter, what one thing could you not go a day without?

Sadly my phone, it’s never too far from my reach!

Who is your hero?

This is a hard one, but it would have to be my guardian Debbie. She is one of the best parents in the world and she has always just been there supporting me in everything I do. She honestly is a best friend as well as a parent, I wouldn’t be where I am today without her.

Be sure to check back soon, as each week we'll finding out more from each member of the Hatched Team.
