Getting to Know You: Jamie

Published on 20 May, 2015

Our Getting to Know You feature returns! This week we were finding out more about Jamie, our Sales Consultant.

How long have you worked at Hatched and what do you do day to day?

I started at Hatched on January 5th this year.

The first thing I do each day is call back all prospective buyers who have viewed a property the previous day, in order to obtain feedback for our customers. I then arrange any pending viewings and deal with general enquires etc. all while learning something new each day.

What did you do before working at Hatched?

Before joining Hatched I worked for a market research company gathering the results of surveys.

What attracted you to join Hatched?

I’ve always been interested in joining the property industry, as I have always felt it would provide the personal challenge I crave, and when I saw the chance to join Hatched I jumped at it.

What do you love most about your role?

Being part of the team, and helping people find their dream home as well as the rewarding feeling I get each day by challenging myself.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

I was soccer crazy (football as I started calling it now) and was always going to trials and hoping to be the next big star.

What would your Karaoke song be?

Not that I would ever be caught doing karaoke, but I would say either nirvana – Teen spirit or Chris webby – fragile live, as I know the lyrics backwards and forwards for those songs so would be comfortable enough to sing either.

What’s your favorite holiday destination?

Would definitely be back home in South Africa, Cape town is just so different to anywhere else I have been, it has its own energy and so much to do and see, I absolutely love the place.

Who is your favorite band or artist?

Wouldn’t say I have one band or artist that I could call my favorite but if you twisted my arm and forced me to I would say; band Bloodhound gang and artist would be Chris Webby.

Where in the world that you’ve not already visited would you like to go, and why?

I would say definitely Vietnams Haylong islands, reason is because I’ve already done the safari and African wildlife thing and I would love to get away from normal day life and be outside, taking in some awesome views.

Aside from food, water, and shelter, what one thing could you not go a day without?

I would say that would have to be music.

Who is your hero?

Would have to be my parents they’ve done a lot for me that I won’t ever forget, especially my mum who has always been there to help and support me I wouldn’t be who I am today without her.
