What do you love most about living in Dartford?

The thing I love most about living in Dartford is its location, it is well placed for the motorway and transport networks that offers easy access to the Kent coastline and countryside with good links into central London. There are so many places to go and things to do in Dartford and the surrounding areas. The area is well catered for schooling (with Grammar Schools), shopping, dining, cinema, theatre, sporting facilities, parks and going out.

What would be your top tips for increasing the value of your home?

  • Keep your property clean, lose the clutter.
  • Keep the décor neutral and tastefully done
  • If you have pets try and air the property to lose any possible pet smells.
  • If you have a garden keep it tidy
  • Try and keep the front of the house looking it’s best for maximum kerb appeal.

How would you describe the property market in Dartford at the moment?

The property market in Dartford is fast moving for both sales and lettings. There is a lot of redevelopment going on at the moment that is bringing new people into the area that is driving both the new home and second hand residential markets. The area offers a bit more house for the money compared to other areas like South East London.

What advice would you give to first-time buyers?

Try and get as much of a deposit together as you can, make sure you have a good credit rating as this affects your chances of getting a mortgage. Research the mortgage market and get plenty of financial advice to see what your affordability is before you go out viewing properties.

For people looking to move to Dartford for the first time, what are some great things to see and do?

There are many things to see and do in and around the Dartford area. If you like shopping, Bluewater is moments away with over 600 shops and 60 restaurants. There are plenty of open spaces, countryside and parkland to take the family. Brands Hatch race circuit is nearby that holds many events. The Dartford Orchard Theatre is a popular place to go to see shows and gigs. There are plenty of places to go out locally for a night out, meal or a drink. If you like to watch football you can go and see Dartford FC.

How would you describe the culture at Hatched?

There is a great, friendly and professional culture at Hatched with everyone working hard to provide the best service we can to help people move while saving thousands in the process.
