Take a look inside Simon Cowell's 'Haunted' Château

Millions of X-Factor fans would have eagerly tuned in Saturday night as One Direction star Louis Tomlinson joined the music mogul at Chateau de Candes in Candes-Saint-Martin during the Judge’s Houses stage.

Despite the nerve-racking experience of performing live in front of Simon, away from the cameras, the X-Factor Overs category would have surely enjoyed their stay at this impressive 16-bedroom château home in the south of France.

The stylish accommodation that overlooks the Loire also boasts of a heated swimming pool, luxury spa and vast gardens, providing peace and relaxation for the contestants in one of the most idyllic locations.

As for the château being haunted, well, unless we get one of our very own ghost-busting property professionals out to visit the property, we can only speculate about ghostly goings on at the 15th century home with vast cellars beneath the terrace.

One thing that we do know about the magnifique residence is that you can currently enjoy a three-night stay in the castle for €7,500, with this figure then rising to €30,000 for a week's stay in the peak seasons.

Despite claims by Simon that he’s recently purchased the residence you can still enjoy a stay at the property, which was uninhabited for many years before being refurbished. If you’re looking to brave a night and add your name to host of music icons including Mick Jagger and ACDC’s Brian Johnson, who have all previously stayed, then you can book through the HomeAway rental site.
